Woodstock for private pilots

I am the only one of the crew who is not a pilot. Maybe I will be on one day. Right now I am just the one enjoying the taxi ride that others provide :-)

So, here I go. Up to Friedrichshafen with two fanatics. They have registered for a fly-in, with a flight show. The yearly big event. Sounds like Woodstock for the music fans.
And that’s exactly what it is. A little heaven on earth for private pilots. And their sons.
For wannabees...and their sons.

When our beauty approaches for landing in Friedrichshaven, the grass zone at the site of the landing lane is already filled with hundreds of small sport planes. Bigger two-engine planes. And enormous private jets.

And then there is music. And Bratwurst. And beer. And a flight show. And another one. And I sit, with my two fanatics, in the grass. Eating bratwurst. And drinking beer. Watching the wing-lady doing her show.

And you know what? I enjoyed it. The Walhalla for pilots, the Woodstock for wannabees.
